Castle of Pietralata

Built on a hill overlooking the valley of the Prino stream, the castle Petralata versa today in rather negative terms; the structure is realized fairly massive, with a turreted tower above the town, surrounded by a circle of walls resting on a mighty rocky outcrop. Unfortunately, the entire body of the building is so eroded by the collapse suffered centuries of neglect to make difficult an analytical reading of the original form of the whole. The downstream side of the walls is adjacent to homes, while upstream the walls are literally drowned in a sea of olive trees, as to be almost unapproachable.
